Save a paper document you can actually find
Capture a page, check its text, and choose an export that suits the person receiving it.

Prepare a two-page practice document
Use two sheets without personal information, marked “Demo notes — 1 of 2” and “Demo notes — 2 of 2,” with clear printed Latin-script text. Capture them or import their images into one Paper Scan document. Check page order, rotate sideways pages and adjust the four corners. Inspect enhancement before keeping it. Blur or glare calls for a better photo, not stronger contrast. Name the document “Demo notes practice,” then check you can find that name from the document list.
Check text and choose the right export
If you need OCR, read the optional recognition explanation before confirming; the app privacy page explains Google diagnostics limitations. Compare extracted text with the sheets, especially page numbers and 1/I or 0/O. After editing an image, extract its text again. PDF preserves page images; searchable PDF adds a Latin text layer. Word includes images and editable recognized paragraphs, without rebuilding the original editable layout. JPG shares only the selected page. Searching words inside Paper Scan requires saved extracted text, not just a page image.
Reopen the file and handle failures safely
Save the PDF as “Demo-notes-practice.pdf” in an on-device folder for a local-only example. Open it from that destination: confirm both pages, correct order, readable corners and complete lines. For searchable PDF, also find a known word in a compatible reader. Missing pages or unreadable text mean returning to the scan and exporting again. If saving fails, check space and try a writable destination; do not clear app data. Keep the source until checks pass. File pickers can include cloud providers: choosing one or sharing gives another service or app its own copy.
